10 Years of RateBoard – Benchmarking Feature Sets New Standards in Leisure Tourism

Innsbruck, June 2025: The hotel tech industry is celebrating this year in Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. Matthias Trenkwalder and his team at the revenue management system RateBoard are celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2025 and are marking the occasion by launching an innovative benchmarking feature for leisure hotels.

What began in 2015 as a response to the lack of dynamic pricing solutions in the leisure hotel industry has quickly developed into a true success story. Since 2020, RateBoard has been part of the Zucchetti Group. Today, ten years after its founding, over 1,400 hotels rely on the software solution. With more than 80 integration partners, the revenue management system offers seamless interfaces to leading PMS and channel managers in the industry.

Five years ago, RateBoard updated approximately 79,000 hotel prices per month – today, it’s well over 8 million updates. This strong technological development is also reflected economically: over the same period, the company has quintupled its revenue. RateBoard has firmly established itself in the European hotel software market and plays a pioneering role in the German-speaking market.

More intelligence, less effort: With the new feature Rule-Based Rate Recommendations, RateBoard is taking pricing to a new level. Hoteliers can define individual pricing rules based on weather, events, or occupancy and more and combine them with AI-based forecasts. The result: automated real-time pricing decisions, measurable day-to-day efficiency, and more time for what truly matters.

More time for what really matters: the hotel guests
Since day one, RateBoard’s core idea has remained unchanged: to offer the right guest the right room price at the right time. Hoteliers should no longer have to spend hours dealing with complex price optimization. The software takes over this task based on data, AI, and algorithms allowing more time for what truly counts: the hotel guests.

In its anniversary year, RateBoard once again underlines its role as a pioneer in leisure tourism: With the new benchmarking feature, hoteliers now gain anonymized, data-driven market insights up to 12 months into the future instead of relying on guest registration data that is often 2–3 months old. This allows hoteliers to assess their market position precisely and make strategically sound decisions clearly and directly in the RateBoard app.

And looking ahead to 2026:
RateBoard is thinking even further. With a new, streamlined solution for private hosts with fewer than ten units, the software brings professional revenue management to a segment where no suitable technology existed before – simple, smart, and to the point.

"We continuously develop RateBoard because we are convinced that good technology can significantly simplify everyday life in the hotel industry while also boosting profitability," says CEO Matthias Trenkwalder.

"According to current forecasts, the anniversary year marks the strongest order volume since our founding, and we’re just getting started: Together with the Zucchetti Group  our parent company and one of Europe’s largest IT groups we are driving international expansion, gaining our first clients in the US, and holding promising talks with partners in Saudi Arabia. Our goal is clear: we want to make RateBoard one of the most successful hospitality tech platforms in Europe."
