Integration between Amazon and Zucchetti to use Alexa in hotel rooms

Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality is now also available in Italy and Zucchetti has integrated Amazon's voice assistant within its hospitality technology solutions: Hotel Borgo di Cortefreda (So.Ges Group) and Parc Hotel Peschiera (Parc Hotels Group) have already made the devices up and running in their rooms

Amazon has just announced the launch of Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality in Italy. The voice assistant will enable guests to play music, order room service, call the front desk and check out and ask about restaurants and places to visit, while helping property managers to generate increased revenue and improve guest satisfaction.
Zucchetti, Italy's leading software company also for hospitality solutions, has already integrated Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality within its technology solutions for hotel management to further boost the digitization of hospitality services and to make the customer experience increasingly engaging.

Among Zucchetti customers, the first to make this innovation available have been Hotel Borgo di Cortefreda (So.Ges Group) located in the province of Florence and Parc Hotel Peschiera (Parc Hotels Group) in the province of Verona.
The devices are already up and running in the rooms, as explained by the managers of these two major hotel chains.

Andrea Galardi, Founder and Ceo of So.Ges.srl: "We were immediately eager to introduce technology such as Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality within our property. For So.Ges. innovation is fundamental and this solution, supporting our staff, is useful to improve the guest experience at 360°, for an increasingly smart and personalized stay."

Luca Fusi, Senior Manager - Parc Hotels Italia and Resorts: "Parc Hotels Italia is glad to offer Alexa Smart Properties services to its guests at the Parc Hotel in Peschiera del Garda. Smart speakers are placed in the rooms, so guests can ask Alexa questions about comfort and privacy. Artificial intelligence supports our staff in helping guests navigate their surroundings: it answers questions related to Lake Garda and its various attractions, from parks to restaurants to the best tourist spots. It also allows guests to send requests for amenities and report any faults. Alexa is therefore helping us to offer guests the best possible stay while also giving the reception staff a big hand." There are so many possibilities for using this technology: for example, guests can ask Alexa for information such as the Wi-Fi password or where the gym is located and request hotel support services, simply by saying, "Alexa, I need towels"; or they can use the device to call the concierge and check the availability of other services.

For guests, however, using Alexa in the room is optional; Echo smart speakers have a microphone button that electronically turns it off. With Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality, guests use Alexa without connecting their Amazon account to the Alexa enabled device and voice recordings are not saved. Meryem Tom, Director Alexa Enterprise EU at Amazon: "Customers tell us they love the intuitive nature of Alexa to do things ranging from entertainment and information to controlling their Smart Home. With Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality, customers can experience the same comfort in their hotel room. Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality gives hospitality providers new ways to create memorable stays for their guests."

Sergio Farinelli, CTO of Zucchetti Hospitality: "As Italy's leading software provider, Zucchetti sees great potential for its hospitality customers. Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality is a great fit for Zucchetti’s Property Mangement Systems and tooling. Alexa becomes a digital concierge who can answer guest’s questions related to the facility, the offered services as well as seamlessly trigger requests directly to staff, which are logged and communicated with our unified system, saving both the guest and reception, housekeeping and maintenance teams, valuable time and ensuring a great guest experience. The potential to deliver cost savings, personalized guest experience and upsell opportunities with Echo devices and Alexa enables us to enrich our offering for our customers across Italy."
