With 5.x versions of MagoCloud and MagoWeb, the path toward functional alignment between MyMagoStudio and EasyStudio continues.
We know how important it is for partners to be able to create added value by tailoring solutions and customizations to each individual customer. This is precisely the mission of these tools: EasyStudio on Mago4 and MyMagoStudio on MagoCloud and MagoWeb. Born from the same vision, both products offer in-place designers that allow partners to easily extend the user interface of Mago documents and integrate new business logic through coding. While EasyStudio has a stable and decades of customization history, with this version, MyMagoStudio is catching up with its big brother and beginning to take the lead.
Let’s now take a look at the key new features introduced in version 5.1.One of the most anticipated and important projects is the management of 1-n-n relationships, which significantly expands the data that can be displayed in documents. In this initial release, the new feature is available only for dynamic tables created with MyMagoStudio, where foreign key relationships are automatically generated. We will soon be working to extend this capability to tables already present in the product, even when the required keys are not yet defined.
Inside interactive designer UI, new properties have been added to define control sizes and to enable automatic data initialization during hotlink add on fly. This new feature, managed exclusively through the designer, reflects our vision to reduce business logic coding and to automate key reseller needs using UI. Among other improvements, we highlight the introduction of file Upload and Download controls — valuable tools in Cloud architecture for synchronizing data contained in external files. For now, these are available only on batch-type documents.
On the business logic side, the standout feature of this version is undoubtedly the automatic generation of microservice grammar even for the Custom context. The auto-generated code from the designer continues to expand and now covers MagoCloud as well! Among the tools provided, the new API Caller simplifies the partner’s work by remapping the most common APIs when writing business logic. A first example includes the APIs exposed by DataManager service, which enable main CRUD operations on MagoCloud. Additionally, we have expanded the list of APIs available to partners, including the most requested and frequently used ones. A special mention goes to the Lock management APIs and those related to Upload and Download functionalities, which were highly expected and have now been delivered in this version.
Finally, we’d like to draw your attention to the series of webinars dedicated to MyMagoStudio italian partners, held over the past few months. With the goal of spreading awareness and facilitating knowledge of the current customization potential, we’ve offered seven free technical and practical webinars starting from May. The webinars path guided partners step-by-step in creating a complete customization, all the way to deployment at the customer installation. The customization was implemented both on MagoWeb and MagoCloud architectures, highlighting that MyMagoStudio implements identical customization capabilities on both platforms. The webinars are available on Zucchetti Academy.
We were pleased to see the high level of interest from partners, who participated in large numbers, actively engaging in the Q&A sessions and offering valuable suggestions. We firmly believe that a strong synergy between the company and its partners — who create added value — is a resource to achieve success together.
