On 8th November 2017, Macnil, part of Zucchetti Group, took part, as a partner, in the presentation of the “Bari Matera 5G” project, promoted by TIM, Fastweb and the project leader Huawei.

Macnil actively took part in the event with its SMARTCITY software solution, together with other national and local companies, in order to activate workshops throughout 2018 to foster the digitization of Puglia and Basilicata, two regions in the South of Italy.

With the “Bari Matera 5G” project, Italy reaches the goals set by the European Commission in the '5G Action Plan' one year in advance and experiments network solutions and innovative scalable services that can be replicated on a national level. The 5G coverage of Bari and Matera, capital cities of Puglia and Basilicata respectively, will be completed by 2019.
