Ahlstrom-Munksjö Turin S.p.A. is a speciality paper manufacturing company belonging to the Ahlstrom-Munksjö Finnish multinational, leading company in the manufacturing of high performance natural and synthetic fibre-based materials, partnering with leading businesses around the world.
Active in Mathi, Piedmont, since 1963, Ahlstrom-Munksjö Group is leader in the manufacturing field of a large variety of everyday applications, such as filters, medical gowns and drapes, wall coverings, flooring, labels and tapes supplied to leading companies all around the world. The cooperation between Italy and Finland resulted in industrial excellence and a continuous growth thanks to the on-going investments, as proven by the new line of impregnation of the Mathi plant for filter media, which is the most advanced in the world and which reconfirms the position of the Piedmont company as being one among the most technologically advanced in the world.

For the human resources management, Ahlstrom-Munksjö Turin was using a competitor’s software solution and, for the shift management, an internal developed application which, in time, appeared to be an inadequate tool to the changing company requirements. Ahlstrom-Munksjö needed a more complete shift management solution, more than a simple planning. Thus, the client launched a software selection based on very precise requirements and criteria, both in terms of technological specifications and in terms of management features of the solution. The objective of the Client was to integrate the shift management with the time and attendance, thus avoiding duplications during the record entry phase and increasing their sharing.



 

By comparing various options available on the market, Ahlstrom-Munksjö has identified Zucchetti Workforce Management application as the best solution for reaching their own objectives in terms of productivity, as well as in terms of control and management, while maintaining the necessary flexibility.

By means of Workforce Management, the client was able to manage the company operational requirements mixing them with the know-how and skills of the employees, always ensuring skilled personnel during each shift. The solution puts at the client’s disposal various management features, such as user profiles, schedule ranges and shift matrices, allowing Ahlstrom-Munksjö to have a genuine and in-house shift management solution with related advantages in terms of time and cost efficiency as well. One of the objectives of the project was to transform the individual know-how of a resource-limited group into a structured and shared company process.
