Zucchetti access control systems installed at 8 stadiums in Qatar

The Italian company automated the sports facilities in the emirate in record time, as 5 out of 8 stadiums hosted the Asian Cup 2011 - the football tournament run by the Asian Football Confederation won by Japan over Australia.

Zucchetti stadium access control solutions, already used in 70 sports facilities in Italy, were installed in 8 stadiums in Qatar as well, 5 of these hosted the Asian Cup 2011 - the football championship among Asian nations, which was held last January in the Middle East emirate.
A prestigious project, but extremely demanding and difficult as well, provided the following aspects:

  • the difficult environmental conditions both for the team members, who delivered the project, and from the point of view of the technical solutions that were used, taking into consideration the climatic factors which can be quite harsh during certain months of the year
  • the distance (Qatar is located 4,000 km from Italy);
  • the project's dimension (in order to manage the entrances of 8 stadiums, which can host between 15,000 and 60,000 spectators, 224 access control systems were installed);
  • very tight deadlines (from May until November 2010).

"The fact that we are leaders in Italy in the field of stadium access control represents the best business card for Zucchetti to export its own solutions abroad - states Vice President Domenico Uggeri, - and the Qatar project for the Asian Cup 2011 further stands as proof for the reliability of our systems, as well as for the quality of our services, even in the case of international events.
The credit for this success goes to all the people in Zucchetti who have accomplished this important task with a high level of professionalism and availability. I particularly refer to the technical team which transferred to the emirate, and was assisted by our colleagues from Zucchetti Romania".
