Thessaloniki chose Zucchetti as the ideal solution for stadium security

Thessaloniki stadium is the first foreign sports venue in which a Zucchetti Access Control system has been installed

The Toumba Stadium of Thessaloniki, the sports facility in which Paok F.C.'s games are disputed, is the first foreign stadium equipped with Zucchetti access control system.
The Greek city turned to the stadium security Italian leader thanks to its nationwide efficiency, witnessed by Zucchetti installations: there are indeed 29 Italian sports venues that have automated their entry gates with Zucchetti devices, consisting of turnstiles and a software/hardware system for access control.

"References are always the best business card - specifies Bruno Morini, Zucchetti International Business Development Director - and in the field of stadium access control, our company can mention, among the sports venues that use Zucchetti solutions, The Olympic Stadium in Rome, Artemio Franchi in Florence, Ferraris in Genoa and The Olympic Stadium in Turin.
And it is exactly by virtue of these projects, achieved for almost all the sports clubs from 'A' and 'B' Leagues of the Italian football championship, that we are aware that our stadium access control system is easy to install abroad. The problems related to sports venues and their security regulations are very similar to ours, and the typology of Zucchetti solution does not request special 'localization' interventions.
As our sales strategy, both in Italy and abroad, is based on indirect relationships - Morini continues - we are looking for technical partners from all over the world in order to extend our product offer for security and automation.
In the specific case of the Thessaloniki Toumba Stadium automation, the project was achieved together with our Greek partner Ticket Hour, also dealing with post-sales assistance."

The work at the Thessaloniki Stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 28.000 spectators, started in September and in the middle of October the automated system testings were already in progress: "the Paok F.C. is the first team in Greece that benefits of an on-line ticket office, completely integrated with an access control system - declares Stefanos Kakarantzas, Ticket Hour Vice President and CEO - and this has increased the sports club entrances at the venue. In fact, taking into consideration the two matches disputed by the Paok with the active system, we have estimated that approximately 2000 supporters, who used to enter the stadium abusively, now had to buy tickets in order to attend the games.
Therefore, we are very happy about this success and we also ascertained the reliability and experience of Zucchetti Staff, supporting us during the planning and the installation stage."

Chrisostomos Gagatsis, Managing Director of Paok F.C., expresses his satisfaction as well: "The project planned the installation of 14 double turnstiles and 2 single ones, for the VIP and press areas, and it was achieved and tested completely within the estimated schedule.
Zucchetti access control system fully answers all our demands allowing us to manage in a more secure and organized way the supporters' flow to the stadium, substantially reducing the risks regarding the supporters' safety and the access time to the venue."

Thus, the Greek stadium represents an important stage in the process of exporting Zucchetti solutions abroad, as the stadium access control system is only one part of the vast offer that Zucchetti delivers on the international market: Security and Automation solutions, complete suite for Human Resources Management, ERP applications, business intelligence tools, Robotics and Domotics products and much more.
